Rocky's think box_(92)

For the last 8 years, I've gone around Seoul, Incheon, Busan and Jeju to expand the startup ecosystem. I was able to compare metropolitan areas to local ones. ㅑIn particular, I came to know why young people are trying to leave their hometowns. It has turned out that the limit of public officials' expertise was revealed very clearly. With the pace of 'Digitalization' becoming quicker, they are finding it hard to catch up with the latest trends. It can not be said that they are not capable. Instead, it can be said that they are lagging behind others in accepting new trends. This can lead to waste of budget as well as prevent cities from developing. We know that local jobs and new industry's jobs have to coexist. However, so that a city can be a sustainable one, we have to know that local governments should create high-tech cities. So, the start-up ecosystem is needed. Unfortunately, let me tell you the three things I felt while getting around all over the country. First, creating high-tech industry needs those who have expertise. The reality is not the case. Public officials are tied to 'rotation'. Second, there are limits to their expertise. This is very natural. Their majors are not related to the start-up ecosystem. This is the reason why local governments can be out of direction. Third, except for a few, most of them are all lazy. This can cause waste of budget and time. Eventually, because of lack of owner spirit, they tend to 'work loosely'. Despite that, they can't be fired! In conclusion, young people tend to leave their hometowns because there are no 'High-end jobs'.
