어제 열린 아카데미 시상식에서 봉준호 감독의 기생충이 4관왕을 차지했습니다. 기존에 화이트 워싱이 심하다며 '헐리우드 로컬 시상식' 으로 불리던 오스카에서 받은 네개의 트로피는 정말 많은걸 시사하는 것 같습니다. 봉준호 감독과 영화의 위대함과 더불어 한국 문화의 파급력은 물론이고, 아카데미 시상식의 변화를 엿볼 수 있었는데요. 일단 주모 한번 외치고!!!
시상식을 보다보니 축하공연에 반가운 얼굴이 등장해서 너무나도 멋졌던 것 같습니다. 화이트 워싱을 탈피한 오스카 시상식에서 흑인음악을 흑인보다 잘하는 백인 에미넴의 공연은 의도하진 않았겠지만 참 많은 생각을 하게 해주었습니다. 봉준호 감독이 'So White' 했던 오스카를 움직였듯이, 에미넴이 힙합은 흑인의 전유물이라는 편견을 없앴으니까요.
