최근 방한해 관심을 받았던 Robert Atkinson (The Information Technology & Innovation Foundation founder)가 집필한 미국 국가혁신시스템의 이해(Understanding the U.S. National Innovation System)가 쓴 리포트의 일부, 너무 당연한 내용이지만 새롭게 느껴지는 문구다.
2014년에 작성했지만 보고서에서는 미국의 혁신 경쟁력이 뒤쳐지고 있다고 지적하고 있으며, anti-innovation, anti-technology 세력의 등장, 미국 정부의 투자 priority 등에 대한 미온적 태도를 원인으로 이야기한다.
