Self-discipline is my favorite topic to talk, becauseI am 32 and realizing that it's time to compete with others in a job market. To stay hard and keep an eye on grwoth is a key component to be successful. Because success, by my definition, is to be filled with all the expertise in the realm that I work for. Consolidation of the knowledge will be able to get me geunine happiness. Then what should I do to make it?
Many answers can be accompanied, but the top priority of those, from my point of view, is to be antifragile. It's a phycology term and reminds me of the song 'Stronger' by Kelly Clarkson.
"What doesn't kill you makes you stronger" is literally the meaning of becoming antifragile. Oppression, hardship, suffering, and all the hurdles ahead of your path could be chance to make yourself even better, if your mental status is antifragile. Let's get into details. In the theory of antifragile, many people are fractured easily by struggles and some of strong people defend themselves, but still without earning benefits. The antifragile people get even harder and stronger by 'absorbing' part of adversity and ushering it into growth. Being antifragile can distill difficulties from self-development.
There are various ideas of how to be antifragile. What I find the most imporant is to diversify. When we face ugly situations, there are two options. One is to condemn or backlash. Another is to consider various perspectives and see all the spectrums that you can come up with to take benefits and grow yourself from a situation. This method rests upon the proponent Tal ben shahar who is an instructor at harvard and also writer in positive psychology. He once said "people who pursue happiness are actually less happy than others who are antifragile". Totally. I have to admit that happiness cannot becontinuous all the time. The point is how to handle with troubles that happen more frequiently in between happiness in your life. To make a better life fundamentally starts with curtailing intricate negativity and solving a problem, not just passing it.
Life is all about mindset.
