자금성
This residence of Chinese emperors was called The Purple Forbidden City 紫禁城 [zǐ jìn chéng], because the common people were not allowed to enter. Another name is the Ancient Imperial Palace 故宫 [gù gōng]. As the world's largest imperial palace complex, it was the political and ritual center of China for over 500 years.
중국의 황제의 거주지는 자금성(紫禁城)이라 불렸는데, 일반인들의 출입이 금지되었기 때문입니다. 또다른 이름은 고대 황제의 궁전이라는 의미의 고궁(故宫)입니다. 세계에서 가장 큰 황제의 궁전 복합건물로서, 500년 넘도록 중국의 정치적이며 의식의 중심이었습니다.
Majestic big red gates decorated with nine rows of nine door nails. Nine is the number implying eternity and supremacy. However, one gate only has eight rows. Try to figure out which one on your next visit. Good luck!

门钉肉饼 [mén dĩng ròu bing]
This "door nail meat pie" is a Beijing dish that received its name because of the similar shape.
“문 장식못 고기 파이”라는 의미의 이 빵은 모양이 비슷하여 이름을 따온 베이징 음식입니다.

走兽 [zǒu shòu]
Imperial roof figures. Some of the buildings roof corners are home to mystical creatures that protect the residents. As the highest roof in the Forbidden City, the Hall of Supreme Harmony has the mахimum number of mythical animals at each of the roof's corners.
궁전 지붕 장식으로서, 건물 지붕 모퉁이에 신비로운 동물들이 궁궐 거주자들을 보호해준다는 의미입니다. 고궁의 가장 높은 지붕을 갖고있는 중심 건물인 태화전(太和殿)은, 각 지붕 모퉁이마다 가장 많은 숫자의 동물이 배치되어있습니다.
(주수*짐승을 뜻하며, 용마루 장식의 일종으로서 상서로운 생명체를 배열해 놓았다. 태화전에만 유일하게 10개. 문수吻兽, 우리나라에서는 어처구니 또는 잡상이라고도 함.)

Across the north exit of the Forbidden City lays Jingshan Park offering the best view of the palace.
경산공원. 고궁의 북쪽 출구 맞은편에 경산공원이 있는데, 올라가면 고궁을 가장 잘 내려다보는 전경을 만날 수 있습니다.
前门 [qián mén] Qianmen "Front Gate"
The area around Qianmen, the city gate situated to the south of Tiananmen Square, is very much worth exploring. In ancient China Qianmen was the commercial center with Dashilan as the main hub of entertainment.
전문 (앞문) - 천안문 남쪽에 위치한 문인 치엔먼/전문 주변 지역은, 샅샅이 둘러볼 가치가 있는 곳입니다. 고대 중국에서 치엔먼은 상업의 중심 지역으로서, 오락의 중추로서 다스란이 있었습니다.
大栅欄 [dà shí lán] Dashilan
Locally referred to as 大栅栏儿 [dà shí lánr] Dashilanr, due to Erhua in the Beijing dialect where Beijingers like to slap on the er-sound at the end of certain words.
다스란. 베이징 사투리의 ‘얼’ 발음이 추가되어 발음됩니다. 베이징사람들은 어떤 단어들 끝에 ‘얼’ 발음을 즐겨 추가합니다.
Usually, the area is overrun by hordes of loud tourists brandishing selfie-sticks hunting for local delicacies and souvenirs. However, during a much-deserved staycation in the area, I woke up really early to wander around during the quiet, peaceful morning hours and got the chance to admire the details of the awe-inspiring buildings, surroundings and arched signs found at sideroads branching off the main street.
이 지역은 일반적으로 먹거리와 기념품을 찍는 셀카봉을 휘둘러대는 시끌벅적한 여행객들의 무리로 넘쳐납니다. 그러나 집 근처에서 보내는 휴가 기간 동안, 나는 아침 일찍 일어나서 매우 조용하고 평화로운 시간 동안 이 지역을 거닐며, 경외감을 불러일으키는 건물들, 주변 환경들, 주요 도로에서 뻗어나간 골목 초입의 아치 모양 간판들을 감상하는 기회를 얻을 수 있습니다.
