세상에서 가장 낭만적인 서점

세계에서 가장 아름다운 서점 중 하나. 1881년에 렐루 형제가 당시 아르누보 양식으로 설립한 유서 깊은 책방입니다. 건물 앞 별도 부스에서 입장권을 줄 서서 사야 해요. 요즘은 5€라고 하더군요.

이곳은 유럽 이베리아 반도의 서쪽 끝 포르투갈, 그곳에서도 가장 아름다운 도시 포르투입니다.

조앤 롤링이 무명시절 포르투에서 생활하며 보고 겪은 것들을 《해리포터》 시리즈에 많이 녹였죠. 렐루 서점에서 호그와트 인테리어 콘셉트를 착안했다는데요. 가장 눈길을 사로잡는 건 역시 정중앙의 붉은 쌍 나선 계단입니다.

내부는 1층과 2층, 관광객으로 미어터지는데, 잘 버티며 구석구석 돌아보면 독특한 정취가 있습니다. 역시 《해리 포터》 책이 한 무더기 쌓여있고요. 저는 여기서 포르투갈어 판 《어린 왕자》를 샀죠.

아름다운 붉은 색상과 곡선의 나선 계단은 사실 나무가 아니라 석회에 나무색을 칠한 겁니다.

책 보러 온 사람 반, 사진 찍으러 들어온 사람 반인데, 다들 계단 정면에서 단독샷 하나씩 찍으려고 난립니다. 눈에 보이지 않는 미지의 순서와 절묘한 새치기 타이밍, 그리고 뻔뻔한 낯짝 등 팽팽한 긴장감이 가득한 이곳에서 깨끗하게 비워진 계단만을 찍는다는 건 하늘의 별따기! 그걸 제가 해냈다는 거 아닙니까! 덕분에 제 셀카는 한 장도 없습니다만ㅜㅜ

One of the most beautiful bookstores in the world.

Livraria Lello

This is founded in 1881 by the Lello brothers in Art Nouveau style. You have to queue up to buy tickets at a separate booth in front of the building. They say 5€ these days.

A lot of what J.K. Rowling saw and experienced while living in Porto was melted into the Harry Potter series. It is said that she was inspired the Hogwarts at the Lello Bookstore. The most eye-catching is the red double spiral staircase in the center.

The inside is bursting with tourists on the first and second floors, but if you hold out well and look around, there is a unique atmosphere. There are piles of Harry Potter books. Instead I bought the Portuguese version of The Little Prince here.

This beautiful red and curved spiral staircase isn't actually wood, it's wood-painted lime. Anyway, taking a solo photo from the front of the stairs is like asking for the moon!
