Love, Ardour, and Dream
꿈을 이루기 위한 요소
A key, fuel, lighthouse. What think of them? When you attempt to sail, they are the most precious things. My challenges of teaching are like sailing. Although the sailing is difficult, if you never give up sailing, you can obtain many things. Like this, when you try to challenge of something, what think of the most valuable things? In my case, That is love, ardour, dream. Until now, I experienced three times sailing in the sea. I mean to say, I experienced three times transformation of my major. My first sailing was begun in 1997 and have got ‘love’. My second sailing was begun in 2004 and have got ‘ardour’. My third sailing was begun in 2011 and have got ‘dream’. I did not know exactly at that time, then my life cycle of teaching was like to happen by octennial.
My first treasure is love. It was began to Gongju in my hometown in Chungnam province. When I was high school student, I would like to become English teacher. That is, my dream was English teacher. I was a good student and studied very well. In university entrance examination, I did not enough score to enter of English Education department. So I entered to Commercial Education department as my score. Though I did not want to it, I studied hard of it during four years. In 1997, Eventually I became a teacher of Commercial Course in Ingyeong private high school in Youngin. This school was managed by company and all of students worked in company. The most of students had unusual family relations, they were the poorest in korea. As I taught to students, I realized that teaching is not important only knowledge, most of all, love of students is important. Through my first sailing, I learned challenge is affection of my life.
My second treasure is ardour. It was began to Bucheon in Gyonggi province. When I taught to students about Commercial Course in Youngin, I did not satisfy to teach. It was mean that I need to other major. Then the opportunity came to me and I caught the opportunity. At that time, I decided to change my major because of I liked very much Computer Science and wanted to teach to it. As teaching for Computer Science, I felt pleasure of teaching and increasing of my expert knowledge. I realized that my aptitude is very essential. I spreaded my knowledge to various directions. My teaching style of PBL(Project Based Learning) were broadcasted and I taught other teacher about PBL in Chungnam and Gyonggi province. During I had various experiences of computer, I recognized that a lively interest of my major is very important. Through my second sailing, I learned challenge is overflowing with eager enjoyment of my life.
My third treasure is dream. It was began to Gimpo in Gyonggi province. When I taught students about Computer Science in Bucheon, I lived up to teach about it. But rapidly, education system in Korea was changed by society’s demand, especially Computer Science curriculum was disappeared more and more. So I worried about it and made an effort to find new chance. I was suggested by Gyeonggi-do Office of Education to change my major into mathematics but I did not like it. About it, I had not some zest. So I did not receive their suggestions. At time, I perceived a quiver that maybe I could fulfill my dream. Continuously, I submitted an application that I wanted to change my major into English, from 2011 to 2012. Finally, They accepted to my application and suggested to attend for CCSET(Certificate Course for Secondary English Teacher). I found that most of all, The important stick to my dream. Through my third sailing, I learned challenge is never-never land of my life.
I can draw the conclusion. When you attempt to sail, the most priceless things are a key, fuel, lighthouse. Likewise when you attempt to challenge of something in your life, the most dear things are love, ardour, dream. The challenges of teaching are like sailing. It ask very work hard in every times but as you stick to them, as you can obtain treasures in deep sea. If you stick to love in your life, If you stick to ardour in your life, If you stick to dream in your life, you can attain everything of your life.
