나는 캐나다 밴쿠버로 떠나기 전 나의 큰아들이 추천한 민병철 영어를 그 애가 떠난 지 2년이 넘어가는 지금까지도 계속 듣고 있다. 그러다 보니 레벨이 12까지 올라갔다. 그런데 레벨 12가 되니 글씨도 조막만 하고 내용은 끝도 없이 길고 그리고 재미가 없다. 처음 이걸 시작하면서 참 재미있었다. 난 레벨 7에서 시작했다. 그래서 딱 멈추었다. 내가 굳이 계속 레벨을 높일 필요가 있겠는가? 내가 영어를 하는 이유는 왕년에 영어로 밥벌이하던 호홋 외국인 상사에서 미국인 비서 할 때 그래도 꽤 잘 써먹던 영어 잘한다 소리 듣던 그 젊음의 시절이 그리워 또 그대로 잊어버린다면 투자한 돈과 시간과 열정이 너무 아까워 다시 하는 것뿐인데 이제 쓸 일일라고는 해외여행 때뿐일 텐데 그리 레벨을 높여 부담을 가질 필요 없다. 간단한 대화라도 명확하게 나의 의사를 전달할 수 있도록 그거면 된다. 그래서 호홋 홱 거꾸로 내려와 버렸다. 내가 맨 처음 너무나 재밌게 시작하던 레벨 7로 확 내려와 버렸다. 너무 간단하고 너무 쉽고 호호 아무 부담 없고 아무 때고 수업을 들을 수가 있다. 캔슬했던 수업 티켓을 수시로 사용하게 된다. 그래! 난 내년에 미국 갈 때 그때 간단하게 대화할 수 있는 정도면 된다. 굳이 내가 레벨을 높여 높여~ 그럴 필요 없다. 무엇이고 재미가 있어야 하니까. 짝짝짝 역시 탁월한 선택이다. 하하 나는 참 남편 말대로 합리화의 대가다. 아, 그러면 어떠랴. 내가 재밌게 계속하는 게 중요하지. 파이팅!!!

Yes, I have visited many countries such as Australia, Austria, Belgium, England (Britain, United Kingdom), China, the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Holland (the Netherlands), Hungary, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, the Philippines, Russia, Singapore, Switzerland, Thailand, the United States of America (USA), and Vatican City. How many countries I have visited!
When my elder son was married six years ago, we visited Australia to make my daughter-in-law be familiar with our family, a kind of welcoming ceremony. When we were in West Europe, it was special with my mother who was 85 years old. She followed such very difficult trip itinerary along with the schedule of that package trip, which was usually very hard just like a survival game. We had Shin Ramyun on top of Jungfrau in Switzerland, and it was so delicious.
We watched the opera 'Tosca' at the Vienna National Opera House in Austria, and it was so great. Especially, the main actor was Korean, and it made us so impressed. We enjoyed Gustav Mahler's Symphony No. 5 at the Goldener Saal of the Wiener Musikverein in Austria. My two sons gave us such great music as a present for my 60th birthday.
