종이의 집으로 스페인어 공부하기
Feat. Intro
스페인어 공부를 하려고 APF 코스를 신청해두었는데, 코스가 다음 주에 시작이다. 그래서 다음 주에 시작을 할 까, 고민을 하다가 '언어 씹어먹기'에 조인했으니, 미룰 수는 없다. 뭐라도 해야 한다.
어떤 걸 공부해야 할까 생각해보다가, '종이의 집'으로 공부하기로 했으니, 인터넷에 혹시 내가 공부할 수 있는 것이 있을까 하여 찾아봤더니 이렇게 좋은 홈페이지가 있었다!

나는 시즌 2 에피소드 1까지 봤으니, 시즌 1에 있는 전 에피소드는 다 본 셈이다. 그래서 시즌 1에 나오는 단어들을 정리해둔 섹션을 공부하기로 했다. 오늘은 Intro에 있는 단어 117개를 보고, "Cool phrases to sound like a native"라는 부분을 봤는데 벌써 재밌다. 새로운 걸 배우는 게 이렇게 재밌다는 것을 오랜만에 느낀다.
그중 내 기억 속에 남는 세 가지를 나눠본다.
1) Z (Zeta)
Police Car
You hear them repeatedly mention Zeta in connection with the police but what is it? Zeta is the name of the letter Z in Spanish and as in Spain police patrol cars have each its own number and this always begins with this letter (such as Z-1002, Z-221, etc), Zeta became the name for a police patrol car. You could always call it patrulla elsewhere but in Spain, you'd call it Zeta.
나는 스페인에서 살아보지는 않아서 도대체 왜 Z (Zeta)가 경찰차를 의미하는지 몰랐다. 이제야 알았다!
2) Poner la mano en el fuego (손을 불에 넣다)
To take a bullet for someone
When you absolutely trust someone, to a point you'd take a bullet for them or stick your neck out for them.
Ex) Rio pone la mano en el fuego por Tokyo.
3) Currar/Curro
to work / job
When Spaniards speak informally they refer to their job as CURRO.
Ex) Mi nuevo curro es muy aburrido.
My new job is very boring.
Ex) Salva está sin curro.
Salva doesn't have a job.
We can also use the verb CURRAR
Ex) Estoy currando mucho estos días.
I am working a lot these days.
As a noun CURRANTA/E would mean hard worker
Ex) Daniel es un currante por eso lo van a ascender.
Daniel is a hard worker, that is why he is being promoted.
Netflix를 보면서 공부를 하면 가장 큰 장점은 그 나라의 문화를 배울 수 있다는 점인 것 같다. 사실 Z 가 경찰차를 뜻하는 줄은 눈치껏 알았지만, 왜 그렇게 부르는지는 잘 몰랐는데 알게 되어서 좋았다.
