A butterfly is small, yet truly magnificent.
조그만 애벌레가 번데기가 되어 껍질을 찢고 세상으로 나아올 때,
When a tiny caterpillar becomes a chrysalis and breaks free from its shell,
그 찰나의 순간에는 변화의 고통과 성장의 용기가 함께 깃듭니다.
That very moment holds both the pain of change and the courage to grow.
그래서 나비는 오래전부터 새로운 시작과 도약의 상징으로 여겨졌어요.
That’s why the butterfly has long symbolized a new beginning and a leap forward.
이번 경주 회의에서도 나비는 단순한 이미지가 아니라

“함께 날아오르는 희망의 메시지”로 등장했죠.

민화 속 화접도(花蝶圖)에서는 꽃과 나비가 어우러져

나비의 날갯짓이 세상의 변화를 부른다면,
If the flutter of a butterfly brings change to the world,
만파식적의 소리는 그 모든 파동을 잠재우는 평화의 노래였습니다.
then the sound of Manpasikjeok was a song that calmed every wave.
『삼국유사』에 따르면, 신라 문무왕이 용이 되어 바다를 지키고,
According to Samguk Yusa, King Munmu of Silla became a dragon to protect the sea,
그의 아들 신문왕이 대나무 피리를 얻어 불었을 때
and his son, King Sinmun, played a flute made of bamboo.
나라의 모든 전쟁과 재난이 멈추었다고 전해집니다.
It is said that when he played it, all wars and disasters ceased.
그 피리의 이름이 바로 만파식적,
The name of the flute was Manpasikjeok,
“만 가지의 파도를 쉬게 하는 피리”였죠.
meaning ‘the flute that calms ten thousand waves.’
이 전설은 우리 민족이 추구해온 조화와 평화의 철학을 담고 있습니다.
This legend carries the Korean spirit of harmony and peace.
나비와 피리, 그리고 함께하는 세상

나비의 날개짓과 만파식적의 피리 소리는
The flutter of the butterfly and the sound of the flute
서로 다른 듯하지만 같은 마음을 품고 있습니다.

한쪽은 하늘로 날아오르고,
One rises toward the sky,
다른 한쪽은 세상을 부드럽게 감싸 안습니다.

우리가 만들어가는 세상도
