헝가리의 민족주의이자 현대음악 작곡가인 벨라 바르토크의 작품 < A kekszakallu herceg vara(푸른 수염 영주)>의 성은, 신데렐라의 원작자로 알려진 샤를 페로의 동화 <푸른 수염>을 원작으로 하는, 불안하고 기괴한 분위기의 사이코드라마입니다. 푸른 수염과 주디스 단 두명만 등장하고 약 1시간여 동안 성의 문을 열어나가는 독특한 구성으로 되어 있으며, 원작보다 더욱 비극적인 결말을 형성합니다. 헝가리어로 대본이 쓰여졌지만, 간혹 독일어로 공연되는 경우도 있습니다.

BLUEBEARD
Most már Judit mind a tied, Yours and yours alone its vastness:
Itt lakik a hajnal, alkony, There, to comfort all your hours,

S leszen neked játszótársad. Make the moon and stars your servants.
JUDITH
Véres árnyat fel a felho! Red as blood, the clouds have gathered!
Milyen felhok szállnak ottan? Bluebeard, tell me where they come from!
BLUEBEARD
Nézd, tündököl az én váram, See, bright at the benediction
Áldott kezed ezt muvelte, Wrought by your hands, sunlight, sunlight
Áldott a te kezed, áldott. Here! Oh, Judith, bless you, bless you!
