Renovation is nearing completion. The exterior work on the sunroom, the last area of renovation, is underway. The area used to be cluttered and messy with items and tools but now it will be used as storage space. Last week, the indoor renovation was completed. And we moved the items to the sunroom, which had been piled up in my office room and living room.
My goal was to complete my office room setup during weekend and start using this space for my work from Monday. To do so, I had to move the items to the sunroom and finish setting up my office on Sunday. It wasn't as simple as I thought. I had to separate and dispose of the items that were no longer useful. My wife and I decided to move my clothes to the office closet, so I cleaned out the dust from the closet and neatly sorted and stored the clean clothes, and put the rest in the laundry basket. I also cleaned up, rearranged and moved my workout equipments to my office room. Finally, I set up my GPU computer, removed the accumulated dust, connected it to the network, and updated the outdated drivers and programs. When completing the latest PyTorch installation in the computer, it was midnight.
Another task I had to do that day was to sell second-hand goods. As I was finishing my move, I decided to get rid of the furniture and electronics that we would no longer be using. I helped moving a heavy futon sofa, a closet, and shoe cabinets to buyer's trucks. These items had been stored in various places and had been moved back and forth, but now they found a good owner and I sold them for about a third of their original price. I still have to sell the computer keyboards and a TV this week, but I was happy I finally see the end of this process is coming close.
The end of the long remodeling and renovation projects is right around the corner. Once we reinforce the exterior walls of the sunroom and paint it, it will be done done. I do not want to move again. I want to live in this house and focus on what I love to do. I really wanted to complete as much as possible today (Sunday) and worked hard. Maybe it was because I wanted to focus more on what I really wanted to do from Monday, rather than doing and thinking about the things I didn't spend my time for. Now I can see the end, and I want to live every day more fun, energetic, happier, and productive.
