나는 어떤 장소에 서 있다. - 어떻게 이곳에 오게 되었는지 잘 기억이 나지 않는다. - 내 앞에 놓인 무언가를 바라본다. - 그것에서 어떤 주제가 튀어나올지 알 이유도, 알 방법도 없다. - 나와 그 대상 사이에 존재하는 무수한 빛. 그 빛을 기록하는 작은 카메라를 집어든다. 결과는 내 한계를 초월하는 세계를 보일 수도, 고양된 내 감정을 드러낼 수도 있다. 이 모든 과정이 어떻게 일어나는지 나는 모른다. 앞으로도 절대 알지 못하기를 희망한다.

I can stand in a certain place - I can never be quite sure of how to get into that position - and look at something in front of me - I can never be sure of what that subject should be - put a small box that records light coming from that object between me and it, and the result can be transcendent and emotionally charged. I don't know exactly how that happens and I hope I never will.
