I am working on the Korean subtitle for our upcoming SB Korea Community Conference (www.sustainablebrands.kr). Doing this by ourselves gives us a way better convenience and efficiency. #sustainablebrands #SBKorea #adobepremierepro #videoediting

For any video editing application, "Timeline" means the place where you can put your video clips, photos, title graphics and audio components in layers and chronological order. Editors spending a lot of times of zooming in to check the link between components in detail OR zooming out to check how the story flows.

My professional career timeline in macro view seems not the best link to each other. I moved companies across the industry, occupation and skills...

1st full-time. Assistant for many things

Throwback to the beginning when I started my first full-time job even before I finish the university where I studied Korean literature.

I was a videographer and a junior video editor at first but it lasts only a year and then I took various work at the same company. Those positions including assistant for music artist PR team, tech staff at a classical music concert for playback background video for stage, sales assistant of international sales team for films and junior staff for organising concerts (BTW, including Black Eyed Peas') etc. Unfortunately, none of those makes me feel that is a good start of my timeline.

2nd full-time. Sales

By the time of the company was having a hard time financially, I quit the job and join a Korean F&B company as new sales staff. i.e. I was same as other graduated for that company because my experience wasn't linked to the sale job. A gap on my timeline.

I spent around 5 years with this F&B company and learned a lot about relationship, organisation, project management, communication and a little bit of F&B knowledge... sales skills.

Currently, at Latitude Inc.

Back to now. I have been working with Latitude about 8 years now. And this year, under COVID-19 circumstance, I could link dots together on my timeline unexpectedly.

Another virtual visit* by one of our clients has just finished today. 11 meetings in 4 days and I enjoyed to back up our team by being tech operator, video editor, MC and interpreter. Still, I find similar findings** and have some ideas to make this more worthful for the customers and clients.

Now I am working on the Korean subtitle for our upcoming SB Korea Community Conference (www.sustainablebrands.kr). Another supporting role for our team and doing all this in-house brings better efficiency. One person = translator + video editor + speaker/moderator + someone understands the project.

Feel proud myself that my experiences placed on my timeline nicely linked each other - not intentionally though. Life.

90's hip-hop music, my work-from-home background music for concentration, works well with subtitling.

* I am intentionally calling this series of the meeting over the internet as the 'virtual visit' not 'conference call' nor 'online meeting'. I can write another article about the reason but mainly to make our work as sounds as nicer if that is possible. :-)
