명문 LAC 칼라마주, 가을 학기 수업 모두 온라인

미국 미시간 소재 명문 리버럴 아츠 칼리지인 칼라마주 칼리지는 올 가을 모든 수업을 온라인으로 열고 유행병이 유행하는 동안 모든 기숙사 홀을 폐쇄할 것이라고 호르헤 G 곤잘레스 칼라마주 총장이 목요일 밝혔다.

이 대학은 당초 캠퍼스를 다시 열고 학생들이 직접 학습하도록 할 계획이었다. 모든 수업을 온라인으로 전환하려는 움직임은 대학 측이 학생들을 다시 교실과 강의실로 불러들이기로 계획하기 약 2주 전에 이루어졌다.

KALAMAZOO, Mich. — Kalamazoo College President Jorge G. Gonzalez said Thursday that students will hold all classes online this fall and close all residence halls during the pandemic.

The college initially planned to reopen its campus and have students learn in-person. The shift to move all classes online came about two weeks before the college planned to welcome students back into classrooms and lecture halls.

Kalamazoo College cited COVID-19 outbreaks that have occurred on college and university campuses across the country after starting in-person learning.

Gonzalez said, "Our students come from all over the U.S. and the world, and we are not an insulated campus. Instead, we are an integral part of a dynamic city where institutions and the community interact.”
