버지니아텍은 1872년에 설립된 미국 명문 주립대학 가운데 하나다. 한국 학생들이 선호하는 대학 가운데 하나다. 버지니아 공대는 버지니아에서 가장 우수한 대학 가운데 하나이며 선도적인 연구 기관으로서 31,000명 이상의 학생들에게 240개의 학부 및 대학원 학위 프로그램을 제공하고 있다.
이 대학은 5억 1,300만 달러 이상의 연구 포트폴리오를 관리하고 있다. 이 대학은 기술 리더십을 통해 지역 및 버지니아 전역에 걸쳐 경제 성장과 일자리 창출을 촉진함으로써 지식을 실천에 옮긴다는 대학 설립 사명을 완수하고 있다.

Regular Decision (as space is available): January 15
미국 내에서만 고등학교를 다닌 학생이 있다면 SAR(Self-Reported Academic Record)를 제출하면 된다. 미국 이외의 고등학교에 다닌 학생이 있다면 성적표를 제출해야 한다. 버지니아텍은 얼마나 어려운 과정의 학습을 했는가를 보기 위해 학교 성적, SAT/ACT 점수(옵셔널), 희망전공 등 네 가지 필수 개인적 진술 및 개인적 자질을 검토한다.
● 얼리 디시전(ED1)
이 대학은 주립대학이지만 얼리 디시전이 있다. 미국 시민권자나 영주권자 그리고 국제학생도 지원 시기는 동일하다.

■ 어떤 원서 작성 플랫폼을 쓰나
- 신입생은 커먼앱과 Coalition을 선택적으로 쓴다. 편입생은 Common APP으로 원서를 작성한다.
■ 셀프 리포티드 아카데믹 레코드(성적표 자기가 적기)
1학년 신입 지원 및 편입 지원학생: 미국에서만 공부한 경우 Self -Reported Academic Record를 사용하여 과정 작업, 성적 및 시험 점수를 보고한다(해당되는 경우). 미국 이외의 지역에서 공부한 경우 지원 후 발송되는 링크를 통해 성적표와 시험성적(해당되는 경우)을 업로드한다. 미국 밖에서 공부한 편입학생들도 공통 앱에 업로드할 수 있다.
