연소답청 (年少踏靑) 재해석
젊은이들의 봄나들이
신윤복, <연소답청>, 조선 후기두 번째로 소개드릴 작품은 <연소답청>입니다.
원작의 그림은 귀문자제들의 봄나들이 장면입니다. 옥색, 보라색의 배자에 지금의 향수라 할 수 있는 향낭까지 차고 색색의 띠로 한껏 멋을 부린 젊은 양반들은 기생을 불러다 말을 태우며 말구종과 담배시중을 마다하지 않는 모습입니다. 당시 여성이자 천민인 기생들에게 말을 태운다는 것은 파격적인 일이었다는데요... 이 젊은이들은 그러한 사상은 아랑곳하지 않고 지금 이 순간을 즐기고 있는 듯 보입니다. 자신의 일을 빼앗기고 갓을 넘겨받은 뒤에 홀연히 쫓아오고 있는 말구종의 표정이 심히 좋지 않습니다. 앞쪽의 커플은 약속시간에 늦었는지 헐레벌떡 합류하려는 모습이네요. 오른쪽 커플의 기생의 머리에 꽂은 진달래꽃에 봄날의 정취가 느껴집니다.
In the spring when azaleas bloom, there is a scene of young aristocrats, adorned in various splendors, riding horses with courtesans. The striking sight of these women, who are both females and commoners, receiving horses while the nobles themselves walk on foot is quite dramatic.
<연소답청>재해석, 2023, Silkscreen, 28.3x35.3cm실크스크린으로 완성된 재해석 그림에서는 벚꽃과 빨갛고 흰 진달래꽃과 철쭉이 핀 도로에 젊은이들이 외제차를 갓길에 세워놓고 자전거, 킥보드, 롱보드 등을 타며 봄을 즐기는 모습입니다. 논문을 준비하는 동안 학교에 드나들며 나름의 봄꽃을 즐길 수 있었던 순환도로의 봄나무가 연상이 되는 작품입니다.
In the reinterpretation work completed on a silk screen, there are young individuals enjoying spring on a road adorned with cherry blossoms, red and white azaleas, and rhododendrons. They have parked imported cars on the side and are riding bicycles, kick scooters, longboards, and more, reveling in the springtime. This artwork brings to mind the spring trees along the school parking lot that I had the opportunity to enjoy while commuting to school during my research paper preparation.

수정 전 이미지, 디지털 작업 A digitally finished work before revising the composition이 작품은 여러 번의 구도 수정을 거쳐 완성되었습니다. 처음 원작의 그림과 같은 구도로 그렸을 때 삼각형으로 빠진 부분이 어색해 보였습니다. 이 작품에서는 한강 고수부지에서 말 대신 자전거와 킥보드등을 타는 젊은이들의 모습을 그렸는데 고위층의 양반 자제들의 현대화가 너무 일반적이 되어버렸습니다.
This artwork went through several composition revisions before reaching its completion. Initially, when I attempted to replicate the original composition, the triangular gap appeared awkward. In this piece, I depicted young individuals riding bicycles and kick scooters at the Han River Park, replacing horses. However, the modernization of the upper-class young nobles became too commonplace.
