장마철의 매미와 잠자리

한반도에 뻗친 장마철 무더위, 35 'C

비 피해 달아나 숨어 지내고 있는 매미와 잠자리

사람도 열대야에 잠을 설치니

장마야, 물렀거라 훠~이 훠~이

오늘은 장마 속 햇볕이 뭉게구름 속에서 얼굴을 내미니

숨어 지내던 잠자리는 좋다고 춤을 추고

매미는 웬일이라는  듯 소리를 외치니

사람들도 더불어 햇볕을 반기네.

In the midsummer heat extending over the Korean Peninsula, 35°C,

Cicadas and dragonflies hiding, escaping the rain damage

People too, sleep eluding them in tropical nights,

Rainy Season, blow away, Voetsak~ Voetsak~

Today, as the sun peeks its face from behind the scattered clouds in the midst of the Rainy Season,

Dragonflies, hidden before, start to dance in delight,

And cicadas, as if surprised, cry out their cicada sounds,

People, along with them, welcome the sun.
