Mornington Peninsula - Red Hill Estate
모닝턴 페닌슐라는 빅토리아주의 남쪽에 위치한 대표적인 와인 산지입니다.
와이너리 뿐만 아니라 광활한 평원과 과수원, 황금빛 해변이 한눈에 보이며 볼거리와 즐길 거리가 가득합니다.
삼면이 바다로 둘러싸인 지역적인 특징으로 해양풍의 영향을 강하게 받으며 모닝턴 페닌슐라 와인만의 캐릭터를 나타내는데 일조한다고 합니다.
모닝턴 페닌슐라의 와인 생산은 1970년대부터 시작하여 비교적 짧은 와인 역사에도 불구하고, 부르고뉴 와인과 견줄 만큼 매우 뛰어난 와인을 생산하며 국제적인 명성을 얻고 있습니다.
저희 부부는 모닝턴 페닌슐라에 도착하여 레드힐 에스테이트를 첫 번째로 방문하였습니다.
1989년 설립된 레드힐 에스테이트 와이너리는 전망이 아름답기로 유명하며 피노누아와 샤르도네를 주로 생산합니다.

전망과 조경이 아름답기로 유명한 이유를 알게 된 순간.

농가를 개조한 느낌의 시음공간.

본격적인 시음 시간, 남편의 테이스팅 노트.
1. Blanc de blanc 2017 Sparkling
Color : Pale straw
Nose : Aromas of lemon, chalk and hint of melon.
Palate : Nicely balanced crisp acidity with green apples and minerality. Fine bubbles.
2. Merricks Grove Chardonnay 2019
Color : Pale yellow
Nose : Pear, baked apple, hint of toast and citrus.
Palate : Crisp acidity with apple, slight honey, yoghurt, apricot and butter.
Finish : malolactic fermentation leaving some buttery finish that is on the line for me.
3. Single Vinyard Chardonnay 2019
Color : Pale yellow
Nose : Complex bouquet of citrus, grilled peach, slight honey and spices.
Palate : Soft and well balanced acid. Concentrated palate with peach, citrus, cedar and some toast.
Finish : Lovely with long lingering finish.
4. Merricks Grove Pinot Noir 2020
Color : Ruby
Nose : Rich with red plum, cherry and spices on the nose.
Palate : Nicely balanced tannin and acidity. Ripe red berries and some pungent spice on the palate.
Finish : Nice finish.
5. Single Vinyard Pinot Noir 2020
Color : Clear and pretty ruby
Nose : Lovely with ripe cherry, strawberry, cedar and floral notes.
Palate : Soft tannin and balanced acidity. Lovely palate full of cherry, strawberry, touch of vanilla and some smoke.
Finish : Long lengthy finish.
