Woosaengmasa (牛生馬死) means that the cow lives and the horse dies. Cows and horses are animals that can swim in water. Horses are excellent swimmers and can swim out faster than cows in calm water. However, when the current is strong, cows escape out of the water faster than horses.
When the water rises and the current speeds up due to heavy rain, the horse tries to swim against the current, but continues to be pushed and eventually drowns from exhaustion. On the other hand, cows do not go against the current, but leave their bodies in the flowing water and float away, slowly continuing to swim towards land little by little and walking out of the water.
Sometimes our lives are like this. There are times when things go smoothly the way you want them to, but there are times when things go wrong no matter how hard you try. In that case, you have to wait for the right time while doing what you can, not going against the flow like the cow above.
Do not be sleepless and distressed because hardships have come. Do not drain all your strength struggling in hardship. Don't worry about the future that hasn't come. There are some things that shouldn't be done no matter how hard you try, but there are also things that happen by themselves over time. If you wait with patience, a time will come when circumstances will change and difficult things will resolve themselves. In any case, what will happen will be fine.
The world is constantly changing. No matter how capable a person is, it is impossible to live smoothly with all the changes. Difficult times come to everyone. Anyone can face a difficult life if they go against the flow of change at the moment of adversity. At such a time, you have to wait while focusing on what you can do while adapting to the flow of change. This is the wisdom to live wisely. You shouldn't give up. Even in adversity, you must walk wisely like an ox without stopping.
Good luck comes when you adapt to change and make sincere and uninterrupted efforts.
