이제 과거완료이다.
과거완료는 had p.p를 쓰며,
had는 주어가 단수든 복수든 상관없이 어차피 have의 과거이기 때문에 그냥 쓰면 된다.
그리고 had 뒤에는 be동사의 p.p형이니까, been을 쓰면 된다.
부정문은 일앞조비뒤의 had 뒤에 써주고, 축약형으로는 hadn’t을 쓸 수 있다.
과거완료 평서문, 의문문, 부정문을 이어서 쓴다면,
The book had been on the table.
The books had been on the shelves.
The clock had been on the wall.
The watch had been on my wrist.
I had been an adult.
It had been a book.
This had been an apple.
The book had not been on the table. > The book hadn’t been on the table.
The books had not been on the shelves. > The books hadn’t been on the shelves.
The clock had not been on the wall. > The clock hadn’t been on the wall.

지금은 일단 해석은 별개로 입으로 이 문장을 계속 말하면서 입근육을 키우고,
모양이 어떻게 변화하는지에 익숙해지도록 하자.
미래완료시제의 평서문, 의문문, 부정문을 이야기해보겠다.
미래완료시제는 미래시제인 will과 have p.p가 합해진 것으로 will have p.p로 쓸 수 있다.
조동사는 앞의 주어의 단복수에 변동이 없고, have도 앞의 조동사 will 때문에 항상 동사원형으로 쓴다.
이때 그럼 부정문을 쓸 때는 어떻게 해야 할까?
not은 부사로 일앞조비뒤이니까, 조동사 뒤에 써주면 된다.
그럼 will 뒤에 not을 써야 할지, have 뒤에 써야 할지 고민스러워진다.
이전에 내가 have p.p가 조동사와 같다고 이야기했기 때문이다.
하지만 여기서 현재완료에 조금 더 자세하게 말한다면, have p.p는 조동사로 보긴 하지만,
사실상 have p.p의 have는 주어의 단복수에서 has나 have로 바뀔 수 있기 때문에 모양만을 볼 때는 일반동사와 같다. 즉, 두 가지 모두 조동사의 성격이긴 하지만 생긴 것 때문에 not이 will 뒤에 들어가야 한다.
그래서 결국 will not have p.p가 되는 것이다.
의문문이 나오면 will not이 한꺼번에 문장 맨 앞으로 나가면 된다.
평서문을 쓰면, 이렇게 된다.
The book will have been on the table.
The books will have been on the shelves.
The clock will have been on the wall.
The watch will have been on my wrist.
I will have been an adult.
It will have been a book.
This will have been an apple.
부정문은 이렇게 쓸 수 있고, 축약형으로도 쓸 수 있다.
The book will not have been on the table. > The book won't have been on the table.
The books will not have been on the shelves. > The books won't have been on the shelves.
The clock will not have been on the wall. > The clock won't have been on the wall.
The watch will not have been on my wrist. > The watch won't have been on my wrist.

의문문과 의문문의 will not의 축약형도 이렇게 쓸 수 있다.

Will the watch have been on my wrist? > Won't the watch have been on my wrist?

이렇게 be 동사를 가지고 시제에 맞춰 변화하는 문장을 써봤다.
지루하긴 했지만 쉬운 문장으로 시제 변화에 따른 문장의 모양이 달라지는 것을 볼 수 있었다.
이렇게 나온 문장을 꼭 입으로 많이 읽어보길 바란다.
최대한 자연스럽게 그리고 자연스러운 속도로 읽어보면 좋겠다. 결과적으로 우리는 영어를 눈으로 보려고 배우는 게 아니기 때문이다.
이제 일반동사를 가지고 3,4,5형식의 문장을 시제에 따라 만들어보도록 하겠다.
