친구의 생일을 축하하며

오늘 한 친구가 생일이었어요.
그 친구의 생일을 축하해 주었는데
그 친구가 문득 이 노래를 저의 목소리로 듣고 싶다고 하더군요.
들어보기는 많이 들어 보았지만
불러보기는 오늘 처음이었습니다.
보통 제가 많이 부르는 팝페라나 가스펠 쪽의 노래가
아니어서 잘 부를 수 있을지 감이 오질 않았습니다.
퇴근을 하고 집에서 영상과 함께
진추하 씨의 원곡 및 다른 가수들이 부른 노래들을 들어 보았습니다.
비교적 빠른 리듬으로 부르는 노래였습니다.
홍콩의 예전 영화들이 그렇지만
영상을 보니 이 영화도 꽤나 낭만적인 그리고 애수가 가득 차
있는 느낌이 들었습니다.
언젠가 날을 잡아 1976년 우리나라에서 당대 최고의 흥행 기록을
세웠다고 하는 영화 '사랑의 스잔나'를 감상해야겠습니다.
One Summer Night은 이 영화의 주제가라고 할 수 있습니다.
난방이 안 된 방 안의 공기가 서늘합니다.
그래서인지 이 노래를 듣고 부르는 이 시간에
저는 더 감상에 젖습니다.
고요함은 나로 하여금 외로움을 느끼게도 하지만
흔들리던 뇌와 정신을 차분하게 해 주고
침묵 속에서 나를 더 강하게 해주는 것 같습니다.
