나는 그녀의 잠든 모습을 지켜보면서 얼마간 가슴의 설렘을 느꼈지만, 그래도 그 맑은 밤하늘은 내 마음을 순결하게 지켜주었다. 우리 주위로는 헤아릴 수 없이 많은 별들이 마치 유순한 (염소) 떼처럼 당당하고 고요히 그들의 운행을 계속하고 있었다. 그리고, 이따금 나는 저 숱한 별들 중에 가장 가냘프고 가장 빛나는 별님 하나가 그만 길을 잃고 내 어깨에 고이 내려와 잠들어 있다는 상상을 했다.
