Spring Rain

穀雨 [3] / [4]

There was nothing bright, not even a streetlight on the route to the location in which Sarah was to be. It was completely dark. Everyone was nervous, and almost thought the same thing: Is there really a place for a human to live in this dark, deserted area?It was gloomy, dismal, and a bit spooky.

4 cars were running to the destination. Every car turned off its headlights when they approached. It was definitely a house. The backdrop was creepy, though the house itself was quite lovely like a pre-Victorian cottage.

They could see bright and warm light through the window. If a stranger didn't know all about the horrible things she did, he or she would find the place utterly charming.

But that is only a manufactured fantasy meant as the perfect trap to lure and draw in her victims, Alexander thought, clenching his teeth.

They separated the team. Half remained on the road for defense from outside, and half surrounded the house for defending Alexander from attack inside. Except Alexander, the team moved in low, but fast and assuredly. Alexander himself double-checked his own gun while walking with a big rose bouquet towards the house. It seemed like he held more than a hundred roses. Deep, blood-red roses.

08:58 p.m. Cynthia nervously awaited the time. All was set up. He stopped in front of the entrance at 9 p.m. exactly. Time was up. He inhaled a deep breath, and rang the doorbell.

It took a few seconds, but he soon heard movement on the other side of the door. He knew she was looking through the peephole in the door to see who it was, and he also knew that, in this light, and considering his own disguise, she couldn't see him at all. They heard and saw the doorknob turn slowly, reluctantly.

After what seemed like a very long stretch, but was, in reality, only a couple of seconds, their eyes met. He pounced on her, and she had no time to react.

"You're under arrest―,"

Alexander was notifying the suspect of her Miranda rights while struggling with her.
