Flailing, she knocked off his facial covering and froze. They both did. She gazed up into his face with a knowing expression and she reached down to her ankle, and withdrew a knife from her boot; a knife that Alexander recalled all to well.
She slashed at him, slicing open his shoulder, and causing him to rear backwards off of her. She advanced on him with the knife, and he withdrew the pistol from his holster. She parried with the knife, but he blocked it with the hefty Colt and his own hands.
Before she left a gash along his mid-section, he reared back, lifted the butt of the Python's grip above his head, and brought it crashing down onto her nose, shattering it.
As her eyes watered, and she became disoriented, Alexander took advantage of her momentary loss of bearing, and flipped her on her belly, pulling her hands behind her back and cuffed her. Once she was subdued, the police who were standing by to render back-up swarmed in, with Cynthia at the fore.
Sarah shouted like an angry animal. She cursed the air, aiming vitriolic slurs to no one in particular, as if she were insane.
"Manuel! Manuel!"
At first they couldn't distinguish what she was saying. Alexander noticed she called a name. Sarah's expression changed horridly, her face turned purple.
Somebody yelled,
"She is clenching her own tongue!"
Cynthia, who was standing right next to Sarah, took a towel from the sink very quickly, and stuck that into Sarah's mouth forcefully. Sarah struggled to avoid the towel going into her mouth, but it was useless. Alexander saw a string of blood flowing down her chin from the inside of her mouth. Sarah had tried to kill herself by biting off her own tongue.
