Talking about Korean food
Have you ever tried traditional Korean food? If you have, I'm sure you loved it, right?
What Korean food have you tried? Korean BBQ? Kimchi? OK. Good. What else? No idea? Then why don't you consider cambioing in Korea for the holidays? You can learn how to cook, eat and enjoy the food and culture during one of Korea’s best holiday seasons.
Chuseok is well known as the biggest event in Korea, and often compared to American Thanksgiving as it's a time for families to gather and enjoy time together.
Many Korean families visit their hometowns for ancestral rituals and to meet their relatives during the holiday.
If you're interested in cooking, food, and people, Korea is the very place that you should visit.
Let's take a look at what Koreans eat at Chuseok.
First, we can't imagine Chuseok without having songpyun. Songpyun are the sticky rice cakes filled with healthy ingredients and shaped like a crescent moon.

Koreans can only eat them at Chuseok, and most of them have the memory of making them with their family, watching a full moon, and making a wish.
Next is Galbijjim, a Korean steamed dish made with short ribs. You can have Gabijjim whenever you want - Korean beef barbecue restaurants won't disappoint you! Still, we do cook and have Galbijjim with families over the holiday season. It just reminds you of your mom's cooking!

There's more. Have you heard of a Korean wine named Makgeolli? Probably not.
It is a rice-based liquor, and contains high quality probiotics such as sauerkraut, after a full three weeks of fermentation. You can get this from liquor shops, but I highly recommend you to learn to how to make at home if you're in Korea. It's easy.
