Sheer chaos the past few days. Hairdryer almost blew up all the bottles in the bathroom and a storm swallowed the pot outside the window. I had completely forgotten I had put it there and now I can only hope no unfortunate passerby got his head smashed by random rubber figs falling from the sky. Would have been quite a scene.
The silence of Sunday morning’s empty buildings and streets. I was pulled out of the subway in the middle of my journey and had to start walking, each step becoming lighter. At such moments I always think of Kafka. A car drove over a pool of water at the side of the road, because it has rained overnight, the significant amount of which has splashed the stockinged ankles of a woman standing by. Her friend laughed and shouted, ‘just like in a movie!’
The high summer has taken leave and I can feel it in the air.
