Awkward moment with K last night. Felt sorry for him but must admit I was also a bit annoyed that he had to make himself miserable like so - and why at the expense of the other company? We hadn’t seen for some time and I was looking forward to having stupid debates or killing time with a B-movie. The air was light until he started stalking his ex on the phone yet again the second I was not there & the irritable silence for almost half an hour which I could not stand: “You should probably go,” I spurted out and he did. I could see his new raincoat trudging down the subway stairs out the window. An immediate rush of more annoyance and remorse. It was a pitiful sight and my response was not friendly - in fact not that of a ‘friend’ at all, whatever that means.
