Income tax return finally filed after three months of putting off - a quaint retrospection of life (five years in Germany), with numbers instead of reminiscence or a photo album. It was genuinely satisfactory to categorise/arrange the study years by things like semester fees and student tickets, tracking down those numbers down to cents in ancient transaction records like an amateur sleuth with occasional recollections of that day when I spent 1,80 at the Atrium for a coffee then bought some seasonings for 6,38 at the oriental store next to it and such (how unbearably meticulous memories can be sometimes), which then neatly fitted into a very curt table. All in all, I should be able to retrieve 3.000 or so... to compensate for concerts which are the only splurges that stand out & shoppings which comprise solely books. Kwang once mentioned something (which sounds terribly pretentious) along the lines of “your assets are not money but culture.” Well I hope so indeed.
