Schwenker is a marinated pork neck steak grilled on a Schwenker, which basically is a round swivelling (schwenken) grill from Saarland. For this we went to the market in Kulturbrauerei only to realise it opens at 1 not 12, so had to kill some time by wandering in the cold of Mauerpark looking at some miserably damp second-hand books, then took refuge in a waffle cafe with uncomfortable benches and lots of loud people - when we finally stood in line for that fat juicy slice of Schwenker I was feeling bloated from all the debris of the detour.
