The Nature of Sheep
Psalms 80:1-19
1. Hear us, Shepherd of Israel, you who lead Joseph like a flock.
You who sit enthroned between the cherubim, shine forth...
2 Awaken your might; come and save us.
3. Restore us, O God; make your face shine on us, that we may be saved.
14 Return to us, God Almighty! Look down from heaven and see!
Watch over this vine,
15 the root your right hand has planted,
the son you have raised up for yourself.
16 Your vine is cut down, it is burned with fire;
at your rebuke your people perish.
17 Let your hand rest on the man at your right hand,
the son of man you have raised up for yourself.
18 Then we will not turn away from you;
revive us, and we will call on your name.
19 Restore us, Lord God Almighty; make your face shine on us,
that we may be saved.
We are like sheep, who have a tendency of easily getting lost, because of bad sight and its own nature of following just the ass of the front. Our Lord is a good shepherd, who cares for His own sheep and willingly gives his own life for the sake of His sheep.
The problem is that after sheep gets lost, there is no way to find the exit of difficulties for themselves, or any good pasture where they dwell in peace, because they followed the wrong way or bad sheep, not to mention of bad shepherds as well.
Jesus said, "I am a good shepherd, and the sheep who belongs to me hears my voice." Last night, I cried because of my sheep, my children, who are disobedient to parents and look lazy making their rooms messed up with trash, just following bad-looking friends, which doesn't mean they are bad, rather they don't know about God.
I have raised up them with good care and love and prayer, but I felt like all my effort is meaningless, because I think that the power of any negative presence are leading them, they are not living by the Holy Spirit. The only thing I can do was just calling on His name, with tears. I felt like my vine was cut down and burning with fire. What a terrible thing it is to watch with my eyes.
Restore us, Lord God Almighty; make your face shine on us, that we may be saved. Just for your name's sake!
