10. 예수께서 들으시고 기이히 여겨 좇는 자들에게 이르시되 내가 진실로 너희에게 이르노니 이스라엘 중 아무에게서도 이만한 믿음을 만나보지 못하였노라
10. When Jesus heard this, he was amazed and said to those following him, “Truly I tell you, I have not found anyone in Israel with such great faith.
13. 예수께서 백부장에게 이르시되 가라 네 믿은대로 될찌어다 하시니 그 시로 하인이 나으니라
13. Then Jesus said to the centurion, “Go! Let it be done just as you believed it would.” And his servant was healed at that moment.
Without faith, we cannot please God and neither can we go to the Heaven as well. Moverover, the love and mercy on his own servant of the centurion must be pleased by Jesus, the son of God who had much more mercy and love toward the sick.
Jesus healed one man of leprosy who was willing to be healed. Who is not willing to be cured from our sickness, in case there is no cure and medicine with isolation from families and friends and there are severe pains and terrible suffering.
Here I see one difference from the leprosy man who asked Jesus for help, saying, "If you are willing, You cam make me clean." He was a man of faith and he also cared about Jesus' will, not his own will. He must have wanted to be cured from the illness, but he didn't eagerly beg his healing first.
As the Lord's prayer, he asked the will of God to be done on earth. What a humble and faithful attitude he had in the mind, and it came out through his mouth.
Father, let me learn a lesson from these men of faith, mercy, and humbleness and put it into practice and take the place of the feast in the kingdom of heaven. Amen.
