16. 저물매 사람들이 귀신 들린 자를 많이 데리고 예수께 오거늘 예수께서 말씀으로 귀신들을 쫓아내시고 병든 자를 다 고치시니
16. When evening came, many who were demon-possessed were brought to him, and he drove out the spirits with a word and healed all the sick.
17. 이는 선지자 이사야로 하신 말씀에 우리 연약한 것을 친히 담당하시고 병을 짊어지셨도다 함을 이루려 하심이더라
17. This was to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah: “He took up our infirmities and bore our diseases.”
I praise His name, Jesus, who carried our diseases and took up our infirmities (weaknesses).
However, we are still suffering from many kinds of physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual sicknesses, and we fear many kinds of pains and death as well. Surely I am not saying, all the people, but most of people, regardless of believers or non-believers.
I believe and I have experienced that I could be freed from these kinds of sickness for some time through faith and the help of the Holy Spirit, but it doesn't last forever, as I live in this earthly, limited, and corrupt world.
Yet, I am much more blessed than anyone who has no idea of Jesus, and who has no salvation. Accordingly, I am privileged to live a healthy life in many areas.
The life of following Jesus is tough and I had to give up many pleasures I could have enjoyed, but I never envied that kind of life, because I have been enjoying my life that is more valuable and more spiritual.
In closing, I will never give up following Jesus, and there is no turning back, no matter how hard and challenging the life is, as I am His own and precious adopted child and I will never betray Him and forget His love and mercy on me.
