13. 주인이 그 중의 한 사람에게 대답하여 가로되 친구여 내가 네게 잘못한 것이 없노라 네가 나와 한 데나리온의 약속을 하지 아니하였느냐
13. “But he answered one of them, ‘I am not being unfair to you, friend. Didn’t you agree to work for a denarius?
14. 네 것이나 가지고 가라 나중 온 이 사람에게 너와 같이 주는 것이 내 뜻이니라
14. Take your pay and go. I want to give the one who was hired last the same as I gave you.
15. 내 것을 가지고 내 뜻대로 할것이 아니냐 내가 선하므로 네가 악하게 보느냐
15. Don’t I have the right to do what I want with my own money? Or are you envious because I am generous?’
16. 이와 같이 나중 된 자로서 먼저 되고 먼저 된 자로서 나중 되리라
16. “So the last will be first, and the first will be last.”
This is not the story about a job or the wages of a day, but about the kingdom of Heaven and Father God, who eagerly wants to invite anyone to His kingdom sooner or later. His only concern is on those who have never heard about it and never invited into. The argument about wages in accordance of the time and the amount of work force seems to have occured when we see the kingdom of God in the same viewpoint as we see human things. Then, it could be considered unfair and people's hard works are treated lighter than anyone who have worked less or shorter.
There is no comparison or competition in His kingdom, but there is only the grace of our generous Father, and without it, no one could enter it and dwell in it.
My role or duty is to call on the ones who are sitting on the streets, the journey of life, without any hope or faith, because of not hearing or not knowing anything about the Heaven, the wonderful place, and our gracious heavenly Father at all. Freely I have received the invitation card to His kingdom, I should freely give it to those who are sitting on the streets. How poor, weak, disabled, unknowled, they look like, I should invite them, which is my mission and then He would reward me saying, "My good servant, did a good job! Sit at my table of the feast and enjoy with me."
