마태복음(Mat) 26장
26. 저희가 먹을 때에 예수께서 떡을 가지사 축복하시고 떼어 제자들을 주시며 가라사대 받아먹으라 이것이 내 몸이니라 하시고
26. While they were eating, Jesus took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take and eat; this is my body.”
27. 또 잔을 가지사 사례하시고 저희에게 주시며 가라사대 너희가 다 이것을 마시라
27. Then he took a cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you.
28. 이것은 죄 사함을 얻게 하려고 많은 사람을 위하여 흘리는바 나의 피 곧 언약의 피니라
28. This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.
Eating bread and drinking wine is very meaningful because it needs faith toward Jesus and grace as well. Moreover, getting forgiveness of my sins is the most important thing in my life and it was the most precious blessing to me, as though I have not done what I was determined to do, because of my weakness like Jesus' deciples who boldly said to Jesus.
Jesus had already known everything that would happen to Him and them, so He must have felt more painful and sorrowful to see the followers fall away from Him. Yet, He didn't argue with them, but He just went on His way to go: crucifixion.
He was a good shepherd, so He could have died for His own sheep, as a little lamb of sacrifice. What an amazing thing He did!
He was also saying that He would go to Galilee before them, who would go fishing without any hope, with disappointment and dispair. They didn't know what He was saying about. It was the very place of Jesus calling them again as the fishers of men. And from there, they started to realize what they should do and what their mission for His kingdom was.
These days, I feel like I am one of the disciples who were fishing again without any gains at the same place as they did before Jesus commanded them to do preaching the Gospel.
Nevertheless, I have realized that my mission is caring for His own sheep and helping them come to the place of salvation. It must be the main reason for His giving me His own body and blood, and for calling me, so it is my duty that I should do until I stand before Him.
