1. 그러므로 형제들아 내가 하나님의 모든 자비하심으로 너희를 권하노니 너희 몸을 하나님이 기뻐하시는 거룩한 산 제물로 드리라 이는 너희가 드릴 영적 예배니라
1. Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper (spiritual act of) worship.
2. 너희는 이 세대를 본받지 말고 오직 마음을 새롭게 함으로 변화를 받아 하나님의 선하시고 기뻐하시고 온전하신 뜻이 무엇인지 분별하도록 하라
2. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
What is true and proper worshiping? It could go with a good sermon and wonderful songs with musical instruments, but the first and foremost worship must be offering my body as a living sacrifice. It means that I myself should be holy and pleasing to God, like a holy sacrifice that was offered to an altar.
In a word, I should be a living sacrifice, for which I should be transformed like that by renewing my mind. Then I will be able to test and approve what God’s good, pleasing, and perfect will is (12:2).
I oftentime wonder what God’s will, so i ask Him, or do something new in order to know it, because I want to know it for sure, though most of times it is not easy at all and I fail.
One thing for sure that I understand today is that I should renew my mind in the Holy Spirit, then I could have possibilities of knowing His will. The power of doing His will begins with my holiness. Holiness, i think, begins with knowing my sins and confessing them, and then getting rid of them completely from my mind and thoughts. I pray at this moment that all dirty and corrupt minds are to be cut off from me and I transform into a holy priest and at the same time into a pure sacrifice that is clean enough to be given to the Holiest one.
