예레미야(Jer) 21장
8. 여호와께서 말씀하시기를 보라 내가 너희 앞에 생명의 길과 사망의 길을 두었노라 너는 이 백성에게 전하라 하셨느니라
8. “Furthermore, tell the people, ‘This is what the LORD says: See, I am setting before you the way of life and the way of death.
14. 내가 너희 행위대로 너희를 벌할 것이요 내가 또 수풀에 불을 놓아 그 모든 주위를 사르리라 여호와의 말씀이니라
14. I will punish you as your deeds deserve, declares the LORD. I will kindle a fire in your forests that will consume everything around you.’ ”
There seems to be only two ways in life, the way of life and the way of death, which God has set before all humans. Although most people think and believe that they will dwell in here safely for long, God seems to say that He would punish us as our deeds deserve, and we have experienced or watched these kinds of consuming works around us throughout the history. These terrible warnings have been shown like a reality show all around the world, regardless of the old times or new high- tech ages, and I can surely tell that we are walking through the way of death.
Then, what is the way of life? According to the Bible, the Word of the Lord, we should turn back from the way we are going, listening to His words and following His way, which is trustworthy and life itself. Although it looks like a nonsense, valueless or unreasonable, like the circumstances of the Israelites, who are destined to be the salves of Babylon, i believe that we should keep it, because He is Almighty and He is beyond our understanding, judgments, or emotions of we humans, the creatures of His.
Jesus said that I am the way and the truth and the life, so no one comes to the Father except through me.
