The Way of Being righteous
24. The LORD commanded us to obey all these decrees and to fear the LORD our God, so that we might always prosper and be kept alive, as is the case today.
25. And if we are careful to obey all this law before the LORD our God, as he has commanded us, that will be our righteousness.”
Why or how does keeping His commands make us righteous and give us long lives and prosperity like the master key of blessings?
I could find out so many verses about these kinds of promises of God in the bible. Josuah, the chosen one by God just before Moses' death, said like below, quote, 여호수아(Jos) 1장 7절.
7. “Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go.
8. Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.
Josuah must have memorized all these words of Moses and he also acted like these commands as well, so he could go into the land of milk and honey, the land of promise of God. And he must have believed the promise of God that He would be with him wherever he goes as He said in verse 9.
The two cases of the blessed ones were Joseph, who became the prime misister in Egypt, and David, who became the second king of the Israelites, God was always with them both because they trusted Him in any circumstances.
As the result, I think that it (the faith) could make them righteous and be honered to be one of the most blessed ones.
These days, I have been thinking about righteousness because I feel stressful because of my thought and judgment of the acts of others and i am in depth of how i should deal with the issue. As I myself can't make any sound judgment and good understanding over everything that is happening around me, it seems to lead me into the pit of trouble.
Simply say, I can't make any decisions or accuse anyone who didn't do any harm to me as the proverbs 3:30 says. I would only trust Him and be careful to do everything written in His Word. Then, He would call me righteous, putting garland around my neck in the long run.
