경기장의 투사

모든 영예는, 바로 이 순간 경기장에 서 있는 투사의 몫입니다. 그는 온 얼굴이 흙먼지와 땀, 그리고 피범벅이된 채 용감하게 싸웁니다. 실수를 하고 거듭 한계에 부딪쳐도. 왜냐하면, 오류와 결점이 없는 노력은 없기 때문입니다.

경기장의 투사는 스스로 자신의 경기를 치룹니다. 그는 위대한 열정이 무엇이고, 위대한 헌신이 무엇인지 잘압니다. 그는 가치 있는 목표를 위해 온몸을 던집니다. 최상의 경우 그는 승리와 성취감을 얻을 것이고, 최악의 경우, 실패한다 할지라도, 대담하게 도전하다 실패한 그는, 승리도 패배도 모르는 차갑고 소심한 영혼들과 결코 함께하지 않을 것입니다.
