Iran Signals It Wants to De-Escalate Hostilities With Israel and Negotiate With U.S. (WSJ. 20250616)
We are exclusively reporting that Iran is signaling it wants to de-escalate its conflict with Israel and negotiate. That's according to Middle Eastern and European officials. In the midst of a ferocious Israeli air campaign, Tehran has told Arab officials that they would be open to returning to the negotiating table with the U.S. over Iran's nuclear program as long as the U.S. doesn't join Israel's attack. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said the attacks will continue until Iran's nuclear program and ballistic missiles are destroyed. The country's military said it killed four senior Iranian intelligence officials in a single strike on Sunday night local time. Crude oil prices are pulling back down after a run-up in the conflict's wake and worries that a regional fight could disrupt global energy flows. The Trump Organization said it will launch a mobile phone service called Trump Mobile and also plans to offer a U.S.-made smartphone in August. The phone will cost $499. The company said the wireless services' Core 47 Plan would be available for $47.45 a month. The Trump Organization said customers would also be able to use the new service using their existing phones. President Trump has said he isn't involved in the family business's day-to-day operations. And longtime NBCUniversal Marketing Executive Adam Stotsky is taking over as Chief Executive of Vice Media, aiming to build up the company's studio and advertising arms after a tumultuous few years. Vice says it is now profitable after filing for bankruptcy in 2023. The company's executive chairman says he expects studio business to drive revenue, and that he is looking to do more with podcasters in the news space. Bruce Dixon, who had been Vice's CEO, is leaving the company.
