U.S. Stocks Up Despite Jobs Report Revision (WSJ. 20250909)

Major U.S. stock indexes closed at new records today with all three benchmarks finishing at highs on the same day for the first time since December 2024. The Nasdaq, S&P 500 and the Dow were all up less than half a percent. Investor optimism about rate cuts outweighed news that the country added 911,000 fewer jobs than previously reported over the 12 months ending in March. Wolfspeed shares surged 48% after its reorganization plan was approved by a Texas court. Stocks of CoreWeave rose about 7% after the artificial intelligence company launched a venture arm to invest in startups. And shares of Nebius jumped nearly 50% after the company signed a $17.4 billion deal to provide GPU infrastructure capacity to Microsoft.
