이세돌을 바둑계에서 떠나게 만든 것은,

다름 아닌 알파고였다.

이세돌 9단이 인간으로 유일하게 알파고에게 1승을 거두긴 했지만,

인류사에 씁쓸한 기억이 아닐 수 없었다.

바둑만큼은 기계가 인간을 이길 수 없을 것이라고 생각했던 지난 세대에겐,

알파고는 충격을 넘는 공포였다.

알파고, 인공지능 그리고 A.I.

빛보다 빠른 신기술을 볼 때마다 내 머릿속에 남는 장면은,

영화 매트릭스에서, 시스템에게 왜 자신을 선택했는지를 네오가 묻는 장면이다.

시스템은 답한다.

"네가 단지 남들보다 빨랐을 뿐이다."
