민중을 이끄는 자유의 여신. 신이 아니었다.

민중에게 호소하는 자유의 여성들이었다.

멀리 이란에서 벌어진 일을 두고 파리의 여성들이 들고일어난 것은,

이것이 단지 저 멀리 이란의 일이 아니라는 사실 때문이다.

비단 여성이 탄압받았기 때문만은 아닌 것이다.

어떠한 형태로든 폭력과 억압 고문과 만행은 사라져야 한다는

어머니의 외침이며 인간의 외침이다.
