Different from the usual tourist spots
Internship report by Rand
You are in Korea but you've visited all the famous tourist spots? Well, you came to the right place!
Here are some different kinds of activities to do in Seoul for a change of air.
Han River is large enough to have water activities. One of them is the jetski which is 50.000 won (2pax). You can enjoy the view of Seoul from Han River!
You will find the center at Yeouinaru Station, just walk down a few meters and you will find a floating restaurant called "Ashley Queens". Beside it, you will find the "Hangang Leisure Sports" which offers water activities including the jetski.
Internet cafes, or PC Bang in Korea, are places where you can have a computer with fast internet. Usually, Koreans go to PC Bang to play to online games with their friends, as well as eat some food because PC bang foods are delicious! You pay your stay per hour but it is usually not expensive, from 500 won to 1500won per hour ($0,39 - $1,18). However, you pay for the food/drink, but again, they are not expensive there.
Manga cafes are my favorite thing to do in Korea! Maybe it is the most challenging activity to do given that you will manga/manhwa in Korean, but you will find countless books, with cheap food/drink, and comfortability! Yes, comfortability because you will find all sorts of places to sit down, chair tables, crossed legs tables, sofas, or private cabins. The same as the PC Bang, you pay per hour to stay in manga cafes, ~2,400 won ($1,89).
Two famous manga cafe brands are Nolsup (놀숲) and Beoltoon (벌툰).
You will find all the youngers here! I think there's no need to explain what is an arcade I think, but just in case, here it is! An arcade is a place where you will find all kinds of games to enjoy with your friends. The costs can go from 500 won to 2,000 won per game, depending on the kind of game or the number of players. You might want to try the Dance Dance Revolution game with K-pop songs!
You might or might not know the importance of archery in Korea, but it is a leading martial art in Korea. Archery has a rich and long history in the country. This sport is found everywhere if you are interested in Korean culture. For example, you can find Koreans casually doing some archery in dramas, or K-shows. You can do indoor archery for 15,000 won an hour.
No need to explain what karaoke, or noraebang (노래방), is! The place where you can sing your favorite songs to your heart's content, without anyone judging, and have food at the same time! The good thing in Korea is that you can find all sorts of rooms for a Karaoke with friends. You can either go to a room karaoke or to a coin karaoke which is a little bit more pricey. The average hourly price is from 5,000 ~ 15,000 won.
Indoor baseball, or screen baseball, is a game where you can play all by yourself without needing 18 players. A famous brand for playing indoor baseball is Strike Zon (sic), which is one of the first brands to start this trend. The cost depends on how many hours will you play, but here are some of the prices: 10 pitches - 4,000 won, 20 mins - 18,000 won ($14.29) - 40 mins - 34,000 won ($26.98).
Well, this is all for now! Comment below if you tried any of these activities on the list, I am curious if you found them as enjoyable as I did~
