Meeting first time, Haenyeo class mates!

2021.05.21 OT at Kui-duk-2-Ri town office.

I went to Hansupul Haenyeo Hak-kyo using a navigation system in my car, and there some people kept informed me of going to another place. We freshmen listened to orientation in the town office of Kui-Duk-2-Ri. I thought why there was orientation not in the school campus but in the town office. I got to know that Hansupul Haenyeo Hak-kyo and Kui-Duk-2-Ri couldn't be separated.

From the first, Hansupul Haenyeo Hak-kyo as the specialized buisiness of Kui-Duk-2-Ri, so the school is managed by the fishing village society(어촌계) of Kui-Duk-2-Ri(귀덕2리) up to now. I was listened to explain that the fishing village chief(어촌계장) hold multiple positions concurrently of the principal of the school.

The principal of Haenyeo Hak-kyo, the head of Kui-Duk-2-Ru and the chief of Haenyeo association came to give address of welcome. And then, the present director undertaking administrative work told the curriculum schedule of the school for one hour. Only hearing the stories, I expect that coming 4 months will be so interesting.

Dormitory of Hansupul Haenyeo school : Students can live during Haenyeo school schedule, from May to August!

As there was a dormitory on the second floor of the town office of Kui-Duk-2-Ri, I watched it. Two bedrooms, a living room and a kitchen were in it. It was more extensive than I thought, and it was clean. The cost of dormitory is 15,000 won per day and 300,000 won per month to run it for Haenyeo Hakkyo students. I thought what a real school. They say that if students in the same class, feeling awkward now, become more familiar, dormitory will change into party place.

CPR education in Haenyeo school

After that, CPR education was introduced. I thought that it was not certified by the Korea CPR Association, but Severance hospital educated it. I was surprised at selling medicine made by Severance hospital with CPR education. I think that to scare with CPR education is easy to earn much money. How to use AED is very important, the instructor skipped it and sold the drugs... The present director expressed surprised feelings after he left.

Sooooo interesting time : Introduction of classmates

And then, 31 students of the introductory class and 21 students of the vocational class introduced themselves. In my life, I listened to many self-introduction, it was the most interesting and the funnest time to introduce themselves. There was no one who have the same job. People from all kinds of backgrounds gathered and introduced themselves for about 2 minutes. It was never boring, but I wanted to go on listening to their stories.

Overview of diving equipment

Since then diving equipment was introduced. They say that swimming goggles, snorkeling strew, fins and diving suit are 4 most essential. After this the tool "Ho-Mang-i(호맹이)" would be necessary, it's name was so cute. As school lends only diving suits, we personally have to prepare other equipments. This time the new 3mm-thick diving suits were bought by school, so we luckily are able to use them for 4 months.
