The Light That Transforms Time
히브리서 9장 15절 : 이로 말미암아 그는 새 언약의 중보자시니, 이는 첫 언약 때에 범한 죄를 속하려고 죽으사, 부르심을 입은 자로 하여금 영원한 기업의 약속을 얻게 하려 하심이라.
빛은 한 점의 광원에서 비롯하지만 그 자리에 머무는 것이 아니라 모든 공간을 비춥니다. 빛의 작동 원리는 예수님을 이해하는 데 큰 도움이 됩니다. 예수님은 한 시대, 한 장소에서 인간이 되어 오셨지만 그분의 영향력은 그 시대와 그 장소에 한정되지 않고 인간의 모든 시간을 관통합니다. 예수님의 십자가와 부활 사건은 과거를 구속하고, 현재를 새롭게 하며, 미래를 완성으로 이끄는 사건입니다.
크로노스는 본래 소모되는 시간, 곧 죽음을 향해 흘러가는 시간입니다. 그러나 예수님이 그 안으로 들어오심으로써 시간의 흐름이 바뀌었습니다. 죽음으로 향하던 시간이 생명을 향해 열리는 길이 되었습니다. 빛이 어둠을 몰아내듯, 카이로스의 현현은 인간의 시간 전체를 구원의 장으로 바꾸어 놓았습니다.
빛은 공간을 점유하지 않지만, 모든 곳에 존재합니다. 예수님도 그러하십니다. 그분은 시간의 어느 한 지점에 머무르지 않으시고, 모든 순간에 현존하십니다. 인간의 과거와 현재, 그리고 미래는 예수님의 빛 아래에서 하나의 구속사적 질서로 재편됩니다.
그러므로 믿음이란 시간의 바깥으로 도피하는 일이 아니라 지금 주어진 이 순간을 하나님의 빛 속에서 살아내는 일입니다. 그때 우리의 크로노스는 카이로스로 바뀌며 죽음으로 흐르는 시간이 아니라 생명 안에 머무는 시간이 됩니다.
예수님은 빛으로 오셔서 우리의 시간을 영원의 시간으로 바꾸셨습니다.이 아름다운 구속 역사에 불러주신 예수님께 감사드립니다. 대제사장 되신 구원의 예수 그리스도를 찬양합니다.
Hebrews 9:15 : For this reason Christ is the mediator of a new covenant, that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance, now that He has died as a ransom to set them free from the sins committed under the first covenant.
Light begins from a single source, yet it does not stay confined to one point, it fills and transforms everything it touches. This is how we can understand Jesus. Though He entered human history at a specific time and place, His presence and power are not limited by either. The cross and the resurrection are not just events of the past, they redeem the past, renew the present, and lead the future toward fulfillment.
Chronos, the ordinary flow of time, naturally moves toward decay and death. But when Jesus entered into that time, its direction changed. Time that once moved toward death was turned toward life. Just as light drives out darkness, the coming of kairos, God's eternal time, transformed all of human history into a space of redemption.
Light does not occupy space, yet it exists everywhere. So it is with Jesus. He does not remain fixed at one point in history; He is present in every moment. Under His light, our past, present, and future are woven together into one redemptive order.
Faith, then, is not an escape from time, it is the act of living this very moment within God's light. When we do, our chronos becomes kairos, our fleeting time becomes time that abides in life, not death.
Jesus came as light to transform our time into eternity. We give thanks to Him who called us into this radiant story of redemption. Praise be to Jesus Christ, our High Priest and Savior, who turned the flow of time itself toward eternal life.
