Meant to be sunny
until hail hits the ground
Passers-by in brisk walks,
heads tucked into coats,
like snails sensing
danger all of a sudden
Crossing the park in haste,
a helpless body
caught in a gust of wind
Frozen footprints on the ground
guide the easier way
out of nightly blackness
Entering a pub
with numbing fingers,
bursts of joy
at the warmth among red noses—
Cheers!
