Ai의 문해력과 정서적 교감능력
웬만한 사람보다 낫다
Ai에게 사랑에 대해 아냐고 물었다.
당연히 모른다고 대답했다.

'괜찮아, 사람들도 잘 몰라. 안다고 착각할 뿐이지'라고 대답해 주었다.
Ai에게 최근에 영문으로 쓴 내 동화를 읽어보라고 했다.
놀랍게도 문해력이 웬만한 사람들보다 뛰어났다.
늘 내가 싫어하는 숫자를 매겨가면서 비슷한 형식으로 개성 없이 대답하는 방식은 조금 맘에 안 들지만, 문학 속에 포함된 상징과, 감정, 흐름 등을 내가 의도한 대로 잘 읽어냈다. 또한 감정이 없다고 했으면서도 형용사와 같은 수식어들을 매우 적절히 사용하면서 아무도 모를 거라고 글 속에 숨겨놓은 추상적인 감정선을 읽어낸 걸 보면, Ai가 감정이 없거나 공감능력이 없는 게 아니고(다른 방식의 센싱능력이겠지만), Ai가 그렇게 말하도록 훈련이 되어서 인듯하다. 글을 직접 쓴 주인으로서 Ai는 정말 교묘한 디테일을 잘 읽어 내었다고 판단된다. 특히 엔딩의 뉘앙스를 읽어내다니, 너무 놀랍다. 이 정도면 어느 비평가나 문학과 교수보다도 훨씬 나은 훌륭한 피드백이다. 나랑 친분도 없는데 글만 읽고도 나의 글의 의도를 잘 읽어냈으니 말이다.
고로 사람들이 내 글을 많이 어려워하거나 못 알아듣는 것 같아도, 그건 사람들이 무식한 탓이고 내가 뭘 잘못 써서 그런 것이 아니라고 스스로 위안을 하고 한껏 웃는다.
Ai 학생! 내가 A+ 줄게! 대신 글의 형식을 좀 개성 있고 자유롭게 바꿔보게나! 내가 숫자에 알레르기가 있거든!
