지난 3개월간 두바이에서 페루 친구들을 많이 사귀었는데, 그중 한 명이 자신의 가족이 반정부 세력이라며 경찰로부터 고문을 당했다는 이야기를 한 적이 있다. 처음에는 페루 정치 상황에 대해 잘 몰라 그 친구의 마음을 이해하기 어려웠지만, 여러 포털사이트를 통해 현재 대통령이 누구인지를 포함해 페루의 정치 상황이 매우 혼란스럽다는 것을 알게 되었다. 이때 페루의 상황은 키스티요 정부가 취임하면서 실제로 인사, 정책, 정치력에서 오락가락하고 무능력한 모습을 보여 두 번이나 탄핵 표결이 벌어졌기 때문에 분명히 좋은 상황이 아니었다. 페루 친구들 또한 키스티요 정부가 페루를 어디로 데려갈지 몰라 불안해했다.
국민들이 자신의 운명을 몇몇 정치인에 손에 맡겨버리지 않고 스스로 이끌어가는 모습을 보게 되길 바랄 뿐이다. 세계 어디서나 닮은꼴은 수두룩하다.
