KBS는 3월 16일 일본 총리 관저에서의 한일정상회담 행사 뉴스특보 생중계에서 방송 진행자 범기영 기자가 회담 현장이 아닌 화면 중계에서 “일장기를 향해 윤석열 대통령이 경례하는 모습을 방금 보셨다. 단상에 태극기가 설치돼 있는데 의장대가 우리 국기를 들고 있을 것 같지는 않다”고 말했다.
당시 현장은 일본 의장대가 태극기와 일장기를 함께 들고 있었으나 KBS의 중계 화면에 태극기가 보이지 않았고, 이에 KBS는 방송 말미에 “남자 앵커가 윤 대통령이 일본 의장대에 인사하는 장면에서 ‘의장대가 태극기를 들고 있지 않은 것 같다’고 언급했으나 실제 일본 의장대는 일본 국기와 함께 태극기를 들고 있었다”며 “다만 화면상에 일장기만 보여 상황 설명에 착오가 있었다. 이를 바로잡고 혼선을 드린 데 대해 사과드린다”고 밝혔다.
